Next season's Saudi Super Cup will be held in China

According to the Saudi Arabian sports newspaper "Sports Report," sources have revealed that China will host the 2025 Saudi Super Cup from August 14th to 17th. The same source mentioned that the UAE and Qatar are vying to host the event, but China's bid surpasses the combined bids of Doha and Abu Dhabi. Additionally, Saudi decision-makers also aim to change the location of the event to a region far from Gulf countries to promote Saudi football and other industries more broadly.

The source also added that China's decision is influenced by the presence of many international superstar players in the Saudi league, such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar, Karim Benzema, and Roberto Firmino, who are all very popular.

According to the format of the Saudi Super Cup, the champions and runners-up of the league and the King's Cup will participate. If there is an overlap in ticket allocation between these two competitions, the spots will be extended to teams with lower league rankings. Currently, Al Hilal and Al Nassr have qualified for participation based on their league performance, while the King's Cup is in the semi-final stage, with Al Nassr and Al Ittihad, as well as Al Hilal and Al Shabab, competing for their respective final spots.

In this season's Saudi Super Cup, Al Hilal defeated Al Nassr in the semi-finals and then triumphed over Al Ittihad in the final to clinch the title.
